The North Face Thermoball Technology

THE NORTH FACE THERMOBALL TECHNOLOGY

Thermoball, The North Face’s revolutionary insulation alternative, was developed to solves a problem. Goose down is widely recognised as the warmest and lightest insulation available, yet once wet its insulation properties are less than efficient. Whilst synthetic insulations, performs better in wet condition, is heavier and less compactable and not as warm.

For Any Condition

Stay warm in the mountains or in the streets with the all-weather versatility of a packable ThermoBall insulated jacket.

Technology Behind Thermoball

Thermoball insulation is the product of a partnership between The North Face and PrimaLoft. Unlike Traditional, continuous-filament synthetic insulation, the small round PrimaLoft synthetic fibre clusters closely to mimic down clusters, trapping heat within small air pockets to retain warmth.

For Any Environment

Layering for lightweight warmth and comfort with a versatile ThermoBall insulated jacket that remains warm when wet.

Uncompromised Warmth

The mimic down synthetic, Thermoball is equivalent to 600 fill power goose down, giving it an incredible warmth to weight ratio. Yet due to it being synthetic the insulation, unlike down maintains its warmth in wet conditions, meaning you can enjoy the warmth of down in any environment and any condition.

For Any Situation

Remove and pack away layers with a versatile ThermoBall insulated jacket that packs into its own pocket.

Unparalleled Compactness

Gone is the bulk of down, replaced by ultra-light synthetic clusters held within a baffle construction. Thermoball is available in hooded, non-hooded and vest style jackets from The North Face, that all pack down into their own pockets, making it the perfect garment for every adventure.
